VIDEO: KwakuBs – Toi!

Harkening back to his previous singles and contribution to La Même Gang, KwakuBS is no new person to versatility. On his new single ‘Toi!’, he is all out to get his fans dancing whilst showing affection.

After being in circulation for close to a month, KwakuBS finally drops the visuals for ‘Toi!’ and it’s nothing like you have seen or imagined. We won’t spoil it for you. The only hint is that the story line is full of surprising twists and one major ‘bost mind’ moment at the end of the video where he meets the girl of his dream.

The visuals maintain the fun energy of the song and features cameos from Yung D3mz (song producer from Kwesi Arthur, Magnom, etc.) and Kofi Billz. The La Mêmeber shared his desire to connect with home in a recent interview, ”I’m vocal in my local language because I’m about finding a bridge where I can link my listeners together. So whichever languages I can incorporate into my craft to bring or pull listeners from all walks of life, I like to take advantage of that”.

On a Yung D3mz production, moulded with instruments that fuse the elements of pop and Afrobeat, the rapper expresses a softer and more lovable side. ‘Toi!’ does its job to support this affectionate extreme already established by songs like ‘Uyimbube’ (an independent release) and ‘Chona’ from the La Même tape. It’s heartwarming to see the love being given back to Bombay as ‘Toi!’ has made its way on the ”Breaking African Music” playlist on Apple Music and is receiving steady rotation of Accra’s top stations.

Though ‘Toi!’ is a release off his upcoming tape, KwakuBS hinted that the songs is one of many flavors his fans will enjoy as he has vowed to keep his experimental edge consistent. As eager as we are to hear a full project from KwakuBS, the wait continues whilst he perfects his evergreen sound. In the meantime, we are to expect visuals for this beautiful song soon. Continue playing ‘Toi!’ on all streaming platforms and keep sharing this sonic goodness as we wait for more.

Enjoy!
