DStv HD PVR software upgrade starts tonight

DStv is constantly improving its software – so they are delighted to announce that DStv HD PVR customers will receive new software by 20 February 2013.

The new software will be pushed to all HD PVR decoders in the background – most customers will receive the software automatically without having to take any action.

However, to verify that your decoder did indeed receive the software, use the procedure below:

The following decoders should have received the software:

• PACE 4P (850)

• UEC 4U (4660)

• PACE 2P (865)

• UEC 2U (4828)

This software download applies only to the models listed above.

How to check if you received the new version of software:

Please follow the steps:
•    Press MENU
•    Select Information Central
•    Select Hardware Status
•    Press RIGHT arrow (to display the Loader Status screen)
•    Check the value for Load Ver / Var on the left of line 3.

By Wednesday evening, 20 Feb 2013, you should have the following software versions on your decoder:
•    PACE 4P (850): L71
•    PACE 2P (865): L36
•    UEC 4U (4660): L65
•    UEC 2U (4828): L9

If you do not have the latest version of software (ie the L number is different to above):
•    Press MENU
•    Select Advanced Options
•    Type in the PIN 9949
•    Select DSD Upgrade
•    Press the RED button and the upgrade will start
•    If the red button does not appear, reboot the PVR and retry the above
procedure
•    If the red button still does not appear, please contact the DStv call centre for
further assistance

This software introduces improvements in the following areas:
•    XtraView
•    Parental Control
•    SMATV & SATCR (Single cable systems for complexes and apartments)
•    General performance
