EXCLUSIVE: Gidilounge To Launch Music Streaming Service Saturday June 1

The guys at Gidilounge are very passionate about building products that have a direct impact. They have developed and will be releasing a new music streaming service, called “gPlayer” on June 1st,  which will be available on the web and all mobile platforms (iOS, BlackBerry, Windows 8 and Android smartphones and tablets). The gPlayer is an upgraded version of our Gidilounge music player. The new music streaming platform will allow users to discover, listen and share music like never before. Users can search for artists, songs and also browse and create playlists, save their favourites, listen to their ready-made music lounges and launch their radio station, Gidilounge Radio.

Lounges are curated playlists which help you enjoy music based on activities (Gym, Cooking/BBQing or Driving), or popular genres (like Juju, Gospel, Afrobeat and Highlife music). The ready-made music lounges introduce new artists to users they may never have heard of before. Users will be able to share each song, created playlists or lounges via Twitter and Facebook.

Users will also enjoy the very popular mobile radio station, Gidilounge Radio. A podcast section will also be available on the app for all their original programming, which is not available on their current app. They have also thrown in some nice features like “now playing”, “Call in feature”, “Social talk” etc.

Mobile is the focus for the new Gidilounge music streaming platform. Their current mobile apps available on iOS, Blackberry and Android was just the beginning (http://gidilounge.com/app). The new Gidilounge app is the future and they are very confident in the launch of this world-class product. Both the web and mobile app share a consistent UI and design. The app will be free for users, Their core launch focus is to keep the service free so as to appeal to as wide an audience as possible.
