It was all hands on deck for the rehabilitation of the African modeling industry, which has been way behind schedule. The workshop gave aspiring and already active models an opportunity to understand the global fashion business and their important role to play for the proper growth of the African fashion industry. It was business as usual for the selected speakers which were Reze Bonna, Lola Maja, Joan Okorodudu, Elohor Aisien, Ovo ogufere, Uti Nwachukwu, Sola Oyebade, Tope Horploadworks, Joyce Chidebe and other inspiring individuals who own prominent fashion establishments in the areas of photography, modeling agencies, skin care/ make up brands; taking time off their busy schedule to tackle the matters involving modeling which is valuable in the fashion industry.
Sensitive topics were brought to light in regards to the current state, and possible solutions for the modeling industry, with speakers giving a professional approach to the business as well as their most honest opinions and experiences mainly to educate on how serious modeling is globally.
For an industry that’s worth an average of $400 billion on a global scale, it’s about time Africa participated in every aspect of the explosive fashion industry, especially modeling. According to The Models Workshop Club the journey is in focus and this kind of determination is aimed at splashing African Models all over fashion pages for a change.
