Discovery Air set to begin flight operations Monday 9 June with promo fare of 10,000 naira only!!!

The management of Discovery Airline has concluded arrangements to commence flight operations on Monday June 9, after successfully obtaining their Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Speaking at the NCAA Annex in Lagos while receiving their AOC, the chairman of Discovery Air, Mr. Babatunde Babalola promised that the airline will adhere strictly to safety procedures. Babalola explained that the airline will take the issue of safety as priority because it was not easy to come out of the certification process.
He said the airline will start operations with two Boeing 737 aircraft and will keep increasing the fleet size. The chairman of Discovery Air disclosed that the company will concentrate on delivering quality customer service.
He stated that the airline will be starting from their operational base in Lagos to Abuja, Port Harcourt and later to Uyo and Yola with plans to start flying to the West Coast. Babalola thanked the management of NCAA for their support in the whole process, adding that the airline will begin its maiden flight on Monday 9, June 2014.
With the licence, Discovery Air has met the minimum safety requirement and its airplanes considered safe enough to fly within Nigerian airspace by the regulator. In his remarks earlier during the presentation of the AOC to the airline, the acting director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA Engr.
Benedict Adeyileka urged the airline adhere to safety procedures in their operations. Adeyileka expressed satisfaction with the airline on the way the management of company comported themselves all through the certification period. While tasking the operators on air safety, Adeyileka called for a harmonious working relationship to engender a safer sky for Nigeria.
He said the NCAA is willing to support Discovery Air and other airlines in Nigeria to succeed.
The NCAA boss charged the airline to always remit the five percent tax collected on behalf of NCAA promptly to avoid sanctions.
