FIRST+EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Sarkodie Dominates 2015 Ghana Music Awards With 10 Nominations, Mavins, AKA, Patoranking and Yemi Alade Also Get Nominated.

The nominees’ announcement for the 16th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards took place at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Friday, February 27.

The show, hosted by popular Ghanaian satirist, DKB and TV personality Bella saw some impressive performances from Dark Suburb, Pappy Kojo, Koda and Dancehall sensation, Vybrant Faya.

This year, rapper Sarkodie dominated the nominees list with 10 nominations, followed by Edem and Stonebwoy. Pappy Kojo,  Episode, Mzvee, Emilia Arthur, Wiyaala and Vybrant Faya were nominated in the “Best New Artiste Of The Year” category.

In the Africa Artiste of the Year category, South African rapper AKA, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz face competition from Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy and the Mavin Group, Patoranking and Yemi Alade. This category carries 40% public vote weighting, 30% Academy Vote weighing and 30% Board vote.
