EbonyLife celebrates 4th anniversary with free TV & film festival

EbonyLife TV is celebrating four years of success on June 30, 2017, with a free festival featuring new season premieres and a screening of its record-breaking movie, The Wedding Party, amongst others.

The EbonyLife TV & Film Festival will give viewers a glimpse into why this start-up channel has risen so quickly to become one of Africa’s premium entertainment platforms. The highlight of the occasion is the debut of Fifty (the series), a spin-off from the hit movie, featuring the original lead actresses, Ireti Doyle, Dakore Akande, Omoni Oboli and Nse Ikpe-Etim. Highly-rated series, Sons of the Caliphate and On the Real, will premiere episodes of their second seasons, while popular campus drama, Life 101, will be screened also. The full schedule is shown below:

This high-quality lineup underscores the value of over 4,000 hours of original content produced by EbonyLife TV since 2013. During the same period, EbonyLife Films has managed to create two of the top five highest-grossing films in the history of Nollywood with Fifty (2015) and The Wedding Party (2016). Both have spawned highly-anticipated spin-offs – Fifty, the television series, and The Wedding Party 2 – Destination Dubai, which will land in cinemas in time for Christmas.

Mo Abudu, founder and CEO, is justifiably proud of all that has been achieved in such a short time. “So many people have worked really hard to make EbonyLife a success – our talent, producers, crew and support staff. Corporate partners have been equally important and DStv has been amazing. We are so grateful that our viewers in Nigeria and across Africa have embraced our vision and appreciate the quality programmes we create for them. We are looking to the future with faith, confidence and renewed vigour.”

To attend the festival, being held at Filmhouse IMAX cinema in Lekki, visitors must register for free tickets at www.ebonylifefestival.com, as all seats are reserved for registered and invited guests only. Successful attendees can look forward to complimentary popcorn, drinks and a chance to win VIP tickets to the premiere of The Wedding Party 2 – Destination Dubai.
