This is Us, the refreshingly honest Golden Globe-nominated drama, which tugged at American heartstrings this year and was toted the best new show of 2017 by many critics, makes its M-Net 101/2 debut on Monday 29 May at 19:30. Then, at 20:30, Christine Baranski steps into the shoes of the formidably intelligent Diane Lockhart in the spin-off of The Good Wife, The Good Fight. Thereafter, the comedy Veep is back for another season of sharp political satire, at 21:30.

This is Us
From the writer and directors of Crazy, Stupid, Love, the premiere episode introduces us to four different people who all share a birthday. As their stories unfold and their paths cross and intertwine in curious ways, we come to see that a birthday isn’t the only thing they have in common. It’s emotional, human and compelling. The series stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Chris Sullivan, Susan Kelechi Watson and Ron Cephas Jones.
The Good Fight
The spin-off of the award-winning The Good Wife promises the same high-level courtroom drama that turned its predecessor into an audience favourite. The new series picks up after a financial scam destroys the reputation of young lawyer Maia Rindell and wipes out her mentor and godmother Diane Lockhart’s savings. When thetwo legal ladies are forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join forces with Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms where they find some familiar faces and old problems. The Good Fight stars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Erica Tazel, Sarah Steele, Justin Bartha, Paul Guilfoyle and Bernadette Peters.
Veep
The sixth season of the acclaimed comedy Veep continues to take a sharp, satirical look at the insular world of politics by following the day-to-day existence of former VP and onetime President, Selina Meyer. One year after the events of Season 5, the new season sees Selina attempting to secure her legacy, after she finds herself out of public office for the first time in years. In a true parody of American politics, things couldn’t be more difficult for her as she tries to find her place in the world. Veep’s ensemble cast includes Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott, Timothy C Simons, Sufe Bradshaw, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole and Sam Richardson as new staff member Richard. Additional guests include Sarah Sutherland, Clea DuVall, Margaret Colin, Amy Brenneman, Paul Scheer and Stephen Fry.
