VIDEO: RedRed – Sisimbo

The song’s striking music video, which you can check out below, follows the group to Sri Lanka’s rivers and oceans.

RedRed tells TalkMediaGhana that, ‘Sisimbo’ was ”inspired by a (sea) shanty sung by Akan fishermen in Ghana to coordinate rowing”. ”Our recreation of Sisimbo went through many transformations as the band itself developed and tried to tap into our ever-morphing sound”, the band mentions.

The video was shot on the Southwestern tip of Sri Lanka with a little twist, where the fishermen don’t even go fishing on boats. This solidified our attempt to tell this story of building relationships, effective communication and growth.
