What to watch in January on DStv

It’s a brand new year! Welcome to 2018, where on DStv, we continue to bring you the best entertainment on TV.

From the return of our favourite series to the premiere of new and exciting series, blockbuster movies, fascinating documentaries, cartoons, live sport from around the world, this month, there’s also the start of award season to get glammed up for.

Here are just some of the programming you can look forward to enjoying on DStv this month.

 

Awards season
From 8 January, we need to be red carpet ready as awards season kicks off with the 75th Golden Globe Awards.

Hosted by late-night TV host Seth Meyers, we can’t wait to see the red carpet fashion and find out who will win the coveted awards.

Some of our favourite shows, including This Is UsBig Little Lies and black-ish have all received nominations.

On 22 January, Hollywood will recognise their fellow actors at the Screen Actor Guild Awards.

And on 29 January, the stars will come out for the biggest night in music – the 60th Grammy Awards. Hosted for the second year in a row by James Corden, we are ready to feel the beat, sing along and see who will walk away with the most awards of the evening.

New series, new seasons
This Is UsGrey’s AnatomySupergirlThe FlashThe Voice UK, and so much more!

We are in for a treat as our favourites return for more drama and surprises, maybe even a crossover episode or two, and other favourites return from a production break.

Our DC favourites are moving to M-Net, weekdays at 17:00, starting with Supergirl S3 on Monday 8 January.

Arrow S6 returns on 9 January, The Flash S4 on 10 January and DC Legends of Tomorrow S3 on 11 January.

Other favourites you can look forward to on M-Net are:
Vikings S5 from 8 January at 22:00;
Once Upon A Time S8 from 12 January at 17:00;
Grey’s Anatomy S14 from 15 January at 19:00;
This Is Us S2 from 22 January at 20:00;
Billions S3 from 22 January at 19:00; and
Suits S7 from 25 January at 21:00.

Blockbuster series continue on Vuzu AMP, make sure to diarise these dates:
The Bachelor S22 from 6 January at 18:00;
The Real Housewives of New Jersey S8 from 18 January at 18:00;
The Fixer S7 and How To Get Away With Murder from 22 January; and
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend S3 from 31 January at 20:30.

Another treat for DStv customers is ITV Choice bringing us The Voice UK, within 24-hours of the UK premiere.

Starting on Sunday 7 January at 18:00, The Voice UK will dazzle us with great talent. We’ll just have to wait and see who judges, Olly Murs, will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson will hit their buzzers for.

Grand Slam action
Will Serena Williams return to the court for the Australian Open?

Last year, the Tennis Queen won the tournament for the seventh time, while pregnant! We can’t wait to see how she continues to dominate on the court in 2018.

And with Grigor Dimitrov winning the 2017 ATP Finals, how far will he go in the first grand slam of the year?

Competition in tennis is tough, but we know the players will serve their best shots.
