True Worshippers’ Family celebrates The World Humanitarian Day in Nigeria: #TheWorldNeedsMore
Every year, United Nations celebrates World Humanitarian Day to raise public awareness of humanitarian assistance worldwide. On this date Aug. 19 2014, the True Worshippers Family joins the UN to continue their ground-breaking international campaign with the theme:The World Needs More. We bring this on our own local soil, a first of its kind project that “turns words into aid”.
UN is trending #TheWorldNeedsMore #HumanitarianHeroes, based on the social media polling count, we are trending #TheWorldNeedsMore #Smiles, because smile is what is left on the faces of people when humanitarian heroes do their Acts of Random Kindness. This also agrees with our main theme for a bigger project coming up later in the year. The True Worshippers’ Family (TWF) identifies a community need each year and works on resolving it through on of our brands, ConnectCharity.
Project Background
ConnectCharity®, a part of the TWF, is a Christian humanitarian group dedicated to engaging youths positively, adding value to the lives of the less privileged and making great impact in our communities and nation at large. In the last 9 years, TWF has been involved in creating platforms to empower and encourage youth involvement in developing communities, with positive results to show for it. Every year, we work on special project focus- from the conceptualization to execution.
Everyone would agree that #TheWorldNeedsMore of everything humane; peace, love, warmth, kindness, sustainability, justice, education, forgiveness, etc. We here at CC and TWF believe that our world needs more smiles to make it a better place to live in. To achieve every other aspiration listed above, people need smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts.
On August 19 we will execute this project by showing love to the residents of Monkey Village, Mazamaza located in Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos. Providing food, clothing, and a sensitization lecture on the Ebola virus (plausible prevention methods). It begins at 8:00am prompt with a walk from Mile 2 Estate to the location for which the estimated attendance is about a 100 people. Support donations from individuals who appreciate the cause have been pouring from all areas.
