Meet Francis Sampah aka Sampahh – The Complete Package

Born in Ghana, West Africa. The only Son of a film loving Father and a music craving Mother, Francis Sampah aka “Sampahh,” grew up enhancing his skills, creativity, and passion for art in a poor community. However, it was perfect for him because of it’s authentic cultural relevance with different walks of socialization. He has always said, “Poverty is my advantage”. Throughout Junior and Senior High School, Sampahh concentrated on acting and design, but still spent time on music in church. After an eye opening exchange program in Canada, Sampahh took a year off from college to figure out what he would ultimately do with his life.

In this period, his love for music grew from songwriting, to creating instrumentals, and finally recording his ideas. Everything started evolving so fast naturally, he knew he was onto something if music was not his calling. After Sampahh’s father Philip passed away, he decided to move to the United States to take responsibility for paying his college tuition. He could not bear watching his mother work at her minimum paying job, trying to pay his tuition for him in Ghana. He decided to study Architecture and minor in Film. This way, he could satisfy his late father as designer and his mother as an actor. All the while, he would have time to develop his skills for music.

So far, Sampahh has written and produced songs for quite a number of artists, and production houses across United States. He has also been honored several times locally in his musical contributions. In the 2014 Torchlight Awards, held in Minnesota, Sampahh walked home with three out of five nominations including, Best Male Artist, Best Producer and Best Music Video. He shared the moment with everyone who supported him from the beginning.

Sampahh is currently pursuing his dreams of one day sharing his story with the rest of the world in Los Angeles, CA. An animated, curious, and old soul like himself cannot stay away from creating, no matter where he goes. Sampahh is a singer/songwriter, producer/composer, actor, director and editor. He is too humble to say it, but he really is “the whole package”.

SAMPAHH VISION/MISSION:
Music and film remain two of the most important tools for shaping any generation. The power of sound alone is incredible. The right ingredients of melody, insightful lyrics, harmony, and a beautiful instrumental foundation has the ability to heal, console, excite, inform, and most importantly, encourage. If music was the world, a genre of music would be the countries of it.

Sampahh likes to think of himself as a global citizen, and limiting him to one genre feels a bit unfair. He seeks to be the pioneer of world music, where whatever feeling is expressed is released in a type of genre that fits it. That way, he has a platform of mixing genres of music to produce essentially what a human being is, “oneness.” Ultimately, Sampahh wants to be recognized by just his voice and lyrics, not his genre. His brand of music would essentially be everything that sounds beautiful and spiritual.
