Enajite Peters crowned as Nigeria’s very first Airtel TRACE Music Star!

A lovely evening of glitz and glam has produced Enajite Peters as the first ever-Nigerian winner of the Airtel TRACE Music Star Competition.

Judges Olisa Adibua, Cobhams Asuquo and Lara George, who were given the unenviable task of selecting five finalists out of the hundreds of thousands of entry applicants, took to their positions and unanimously selected Enajite as the competition winner.

The national finale, which took place at the “OceanView Grounds” in Victoria Island, was hosted by Jimmie of the ‘Beat FM’ and popular Comedienne Chi Gurl. The star-studded event featured superstars among the likes of IcePrince, Phyno, Vector, Falz, BOJ, and Joe El, with popular media personalities in attendance.

An overjoyed Jitey had this to say: “When my name was called as the winner, for that moment, I didn’t know what to do; it was surreal and happened so fast. I know this is the beginning of greater things to happen. I am thankful to the judges for every piece of advice and constructive criticism that will sure make me a better singer, the fans who voted and those that came out to cheer for me on that day. There’s no way to thank them enough. The whole ‘Team Jitey’ are the real winners”.

VOTE JITEY 2 WIN

TRACE Nigeria MD Sam Onyemelukwe said: “I believe Enajite she has what it takes to be the Pan-African champion.  Her passion and willingness to learn is super. There was this instance during Lara George’s performance that she came out to watch. I was impressed because this was at a period where she was supposed to be prepping herself for the biggest moment of her musical career. I wish her all the best of luck in Kenya.”

Enajite Peters received the top National prize of $25,000 and will represent Nigeria in the Pan-African Grande Finale in Kenya, where the winner will hit the jackpot: a record deal with Universal records and Mentorship with AKON.

To VOTE Jitey to win Call or SMS ‘JIT’ to 5678 as many times as possible using an Airtel line.

Voting closes at midnight on March 25th 2015.
