How To Guide: Twitter’s Group Direct Messages

twitter group messaging

In January, Twitter rolled out three new features globally, which brought new and exciting ways to connect and interact.  Today we focus on how to use Group Direct Messages features.

Group Messaging

Ever wanted to speak privately with a group of people of up to 20 people on Twitter?  Well now you can! Send a private message to up to 20 people and share tweets, pictures, links and emoji.  The Direct Messages feature has now been updated so you can start a private conversation with more than one person, who do not all need to follow each other.

How to start a group message:

·         To share a tweet –go to the tweet and click “Share via Direct Message”; multiple names can be entered into the recipient box

·         To start a group direct message –click on the Messages tab and enter multiple names into the recipients box

If you’re brand new to Direct Messages, here’s a good resource to learn more.
