MPHO MABOI PRESENTS THE INAUGURAL “WOMEN IN SPORTS SESSIONS”

TV and Radio sports anchor Mpho Maboi is proud to present the inaugural “Women In Sports Sessions”, featuring some of the country’s prominent and influential women within the industry.

An empowerment-networking event MMWIS 2017 seeks to show appreciation to women in sports as well as inspire young women with aspirations of being in the sporting arena, by providing a platform for mentorship, branding & networking.

With the theme centred around broadcasting the panellist of speakers include Lebo Motsoeli (SABC Sports), Kate Nokwe (E News), Busisiwe Mokwena (Kaya FM) and Itumeleng Dibatane (Stylist).

Sharing her motivation behind the event Mpho says, “A lot of young women have followed my journey as a sports anchor since 2009 when I first started in the industry. I believe my experiences, lessons, mistakes and pretty much everything I’ve learned while building my career will go a long way in inspiring, motivating and helping other young women get ahead in the sporting field. I get a lot of emails from young ladies wanting to get into sport. This tells me that there are many who are interested but just do not know where to start. The journey has been amazing. I want other women to know what’s it’s like to not only have a passion but to live it as well.”

With her career soon reaching a decade in the sports industry Mpho is undoubtedly amongst the country’s most respected and celebrated sports casters.

Currently a sports contributor on SABC 1’s Mzansi Insider, a studio and touchline sport presenter for SABC Sport, Mpho is now set to present her very own sports show on Metro FM’s newly revamped “The Ultimate Sports Show”. Her show will air every Thursday 18h00 – 19h30 starting 24 August 2017. She’s also part of the South Africa’s biggest breakfast show Fresh Breakfast with DJ Fresh on Metro FM, weekdays broadcasting from 05h00-08h00.
