Sports showing this September on Kwesé TV

Kwesé has great sport lined up for you in September. Kwesé Free Sports, the first pan-African sports channel, brings you the Premier League Match of the Week every Saturday. This has proved to be highly popular with our viewers, who would otherwise not be able to watch the Premier League LIVE. Catch Everton vs Spurs on 9 September; Manchester City vs Watford on 16 September; Chelsea v Stoke City on 23 September; and Manchester United v Crystal Palace on 30 September.

If you’re a fan of English football then keep an eye out for our coverage of the EFL Championship. ‘The Championship’ is the second-tier league in England (after Premier League) but is richer and more popular than a lot of countries’ top-tier leagues. Kwesé also brings you the Carabao Cup, otherwise known as the League Cup. This knockout competition involves England’s top four leagues, including the Premier League teams. So, look out for our LIVE coverage of the Carabao Cup and EFL Championship, including highlights shows, on Kwesé.

Kwesé also has the South American leagues covered. We bring you Brazil Serie A – which is one of the richest and most competitive club leagues in the world. Enjoy the excitement, passion and history of clubs like Corinthians, Santos and Palmeiras. These big Brazilian teams are also part of the Copa Libertadores, which is like the UEFA Champions League of South America, bringing together the top clubs on the continent (including Mexico). In September you can catch quarterfinal matches of the Copa Libertadores – nothing like knockout football to set the heart racing.

Kwesé is also getting behind the local game, with our coverage of the COSAFA Women’s Championship from 13-24 September. Catch those games LIVE on Kwesé Free Sports.

Football is BIG in Africa, and so is boxing and MMA (mixed martial arts). Kwesé has some great fights lined up for the month of September. You can catch EFC 63 on KS1 (9 September at 21:00 CAT) which features some major international MMA battles, including Gorimbo (Zimbabwe) v Mazany (US); and Da Rocha (Brazil) v Pritchard (South Africa). Fans of MMA should also catch BAMMA, Europe’s major MMA league. BAMMA 31 (KS2, 15 September at 21:00 CAT) comes to you LIVE from Wembley and includes some great main-card bouts.

But our biggest fight for the month is the Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo Alvarez cracker (KS1, 17 September 02.00 CAT). Golovkin v Alvarez has been billed ‘supremacy’ and will decide who is the world’s best middleweight. The fight pits the classy Mexican (Alvarez) against the brutal punching power of Golovkin, from Kazakhstan. Don’t miss it come 17 September.

Motor-racing fans are also in for a major treat in September, with our coverage of two F1 GPs – Italy (3 September) and Singapore (17 September). It’s turning into a great tussle between Hamilton (Mercedes) and Vettel (Ferrari), and September could just prove crucial in determining the Championship winner.

There’s also LIVE NFL (American football), WNBA playoffs, Davis Cup tennis, WTA tennis and loads more. So, stay with Kwesé this September for the world’s best sporting action.
