DStv Smartcard Swapout!

Are you a DStv subscriber living in Nigeria?, then listen up….to continue accessing DStv channels and prepare your decoder for future enhancements, you must replace your old smartcard (up to and including version 5.3) and activate your new Smartcard before March 31st, 2012. The swap is being done FOR FREE at all MultiChoice offices.

Your DStv smartcard version is written under the gold chip on your smartcard. You can also confirm by following the steps below:

Press MENU on your DStv remote control
Select ‘Advanced Options’ and press OK
Select ‘Information’ and press OK
Select ‘Irdeto CA Status’ and press OK
Select ‘Smartcard Status’ and press OK

Your smartcard version will be displayed in the 3rd row on your screen, below your smartcard number. If you have a version 2.2, 4.1, 5 or 5.3 smartcard, then it must be swapped.

Click EXIT to leave screen

Please remember that the smartcard swap is FREE at all MultiChoice offices and must be done by March 31st, 2012.
