New DStv Mobile Walka 7: TV anywhere, anytime

DStv Mobile has unveiled its latest world-class offering: the new Walka 7.  Set to captivate the local market in the run-up to the festive season, the device is the ideal addition to the brand’s range of innovative gadgets.

DStv Mobile’s new Walka 7 is perfect for Nigerians who enjoy a fast-paced urban lifestyle, and want to remain “in the know” whilst “on the go”. Complete with a seven inch screen it is a portable TV with enhanced visual and audio quality. The device is simple and easy to use, allowing customers to switch on and use it immediately – delivering on DStv Mobile’s promise of “TV anywhere, anytime”.

“The massive growth in new technologies seen both locally and across Africa has shown consumers’ readiness and appetite for innovative intuitive devices like the Walka 7,” says Mark Rayner CEO DStv Mobile. “DStv Mobile has thus launched the Walka 7 – providing subscribers with a device that has a larger screen and improved battery life.”

The Walka 7 can be used to access all of the great content subscribers have come to expect from DStv Mobile, including sport, music, general entertainment and children’s programming.

The device also comes with a 3-month free DStv subscription with 16 channels including entertainment, news and sports when you purchase it and requires you to pay a token of about N700 for a monthly recharge if you don’t have a current DStv subscription. But if you do already, you can simply link your Walka 7 device to your DStv subscription and you won’t have to pay monthly.

The Walka 7 has a signal strength and battery indicator in the user interface and an antenna that can be extended and positioned vertically to improve reception where necessary.

Its launch comes just in time for the festive season, with the device arguably the perfect Christmas gift and/or travelling companion for the children in the car or at the airport over the holidays.

Available at MultiChoice centres and select retailers, the Walka 7 retails at a recommended price of N18,900. The device comes with a mini USB cable (for charging the battery), a USB charger, a stand and the user manual.

DStv Mobile coverage is available in the ten major cities of Nigeria:
