EbonyLife and Multichoice Sign Distribution Agreement

EbonyLife, a new media and entertainment outfit, has signed a Channel Distribution Agreement in South Africa with Multichoice to broadcast across Africa on the DStv platform. This follows the pact signed on a Joint Venture Agreement and concession on Studio Tinapa with the Cross River State government in Calabar, Nigeria early this year.

EbonyLife TV is a subsidiary of sub-Saharan Africa’s first and only media and entertainment city – Media and Entertainment City Africa (MEC Africa) .

EbonyLife TV, which is due to launch exclusively on DStv’s Channel 159 in April 2013 will produce and broadcast over 700 hours of non-stop and original programming that cut across music, lifestyle, film, drama, talk, factual, comedy, magazine, reality and even sports to the sub-Saharan Africa region. With its bouquet of compelling TV programmes and world-class production values; the channel aims to be the home of the best of African content available.

The media platform is presently discussing with other Pay TV platforms in the UK, US, Brazil and Canada – a move that will effectively position EbonyLife as a media-driven platform designed to reach and touch the lives of its core target through an unprecedented multiplicity of exciting platforms including TV, Web, Mobile, Apps and Live.

Prior to this time, MEC Africa CEO, Mo Abudu, a famous Talk show hostess, TV producer, Entrepreneur and Venture Capitalist, has spent months assembling the best of Nigeria in broadcast and production among a team of international experts from the United States and South Africa.

Asuquo Eton founded talkmediaafrica.com, now one of the most visited TV, music, tech and features website, in 2011. He is also a social media analyst, media and entertainment consultant.
