Microsoft confirms Surface with Windows 8 Pro for January: pricing starting at 64GB/$899, 128GB/$999 versions
Finally Microsoft confirms that Surface Pro will release early next year 2013. With over 40 million Windows 8 Licenses sold, Microsoft has finally announced that Surface PRO will be available January 2013.
Earlier at a Shareholders meet, Ballmer already confirmed that Microsoft will continue to add “delightful & seamless features to its Surface Tablet.”
Microsoft Surface Pro will be released in two versions – a 64GB & 128GB.
Each will be priced at $899 & $999 respectively.
An addition to Surface Pro version is Palm Block Technology which is an extension of digital ink feature & keeps the Pro tablet from taking touch inputs when pen is in close proximity, making use of Stylus Pen easier.
This digital stylus pen is labelled as Microsoft Digigal Stylus pen which has an internal light source. Using the wireless, camera transfers light signals to the Sensory layer on the tablet.
Surface Tablet will be using Intel’s i5 Processor. It also features a full HD – 10.6″ – 16:9 screen. The display resolution announced by Microsoft is 1920X1080.
This is considerably higher than Apple’s 11″ Macbook Air Display which is 1366×768 (native) at 16:9 ratio.
Just like its predecessor, Surface will have a USB port along with a Mini DisplayPort.
Not to forget, unlike Surface RT, Surface PRO will allow you to run your legacy Windows 7 desktop apps which makes it a Hybrid PC when combined with the Touch & Type covers.
Surface will roughly weigh less than 2 pounds & will be less than 14mm in thickness. Surface Pro will also feature the legendary VaporMG casing that was earlier featured on RT Tablet.
If you are looking to do some serious heavyduty business, Surface Pro is your next tablet.
Here is how Surface Pro compares to its predecessor Surface RT
