SuperSport kicks-off the New Year with action from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in South Africa. A total of 16 teams will be competing in the continent’s most prestigious football competition. Egypt who did not qualify for the tournament – remains the most successful country, with a total of seven titles.
Defending champions Zambia will be confident of retaining the cup; Chipolopolo recently defeated the hosts 1-0 in the Nelson Mandela Challenge – giving them an advantage ahead of the tournament.
Ivory Coast led by former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, will be hoping for a better showing following their defeat to Zambia in the 2012 Afcon final.
