PICK OF THE DAY: Being Mandela – FOX at 7:15pm (WAT)

It isn’t easy growing up without really knowing your nationality until you are a teenager. Born in South Africa and Liberia, living in Kenya, and in the USA, feeling like an American, and then getting drop-kicked into post-Apartheid South Africa.

This is the story of Nelson and Winnie Mandela’s granddaughters, Swati Dlamini and Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway.

For these smart, stylish, well-educated, worldly first-cousins, there is no complaining about being a “poor little rich girl” but there is awareness of the benefits and burdens of being a Mandela.
