The maliciously sinister Hannibal Lecter is back with more cunning mind games in Hannibal tomorrow (Tuesday, 23 April at 7:55pm WAT) on SONY. The series is loosely based on the first book by Thomas Harris titled Red Dragon and tells the story of the early relationship between psychiatrist Dr Lecter and his patient Will Graham – an FBI criminal profiler who has the uncanny ability to empathise with the deadliest serial killers that are stalking the city.
Unbeknown to them, Will and Dr Lecter are destined to become sworn enemies. If this riveting plot isn’t enough to get you hooked, then the immensely talented star cast of Hannibal is definitely something to get excited about.
Meet the cast:
Hugh Dancy as Will Graham
Hugh Dancy is cast as special agent Will Graham, a brilliant FBI profiler who envisages murders that are committed by some of the most feared serial killers. He can enter into the mind of the killer like no one else can to see how the murder was committed. Dancy is famously known for his work in The Big C, King Arthur and Black Hawk Down.
Laurence Fishburne as Jack Crawford
Having starred in The Matrix, Contagion and CSI, Laurence Fishburne needs no introduction. Fishburne’s role in The Matrix was the epitome of composure and authority and his portrayal of the boss, Agent Jack Crawford, in Hannibal is no different.
Crawford notices Graham’s abilities after he throws himself into a particularly disturbing case. At the same time, this is when Crawford sees the need for Graham to get psychiatric help from none other than Dr Hannibal Lecter.
Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter
Hannibal Lecter is played by Mads Mikkelsen who has had more than a few meaningful roles in big budget movies such as Casino Royale, The Hunt and A Royal Affair. Lecter takes on Graham as a patient and understands him better than Graham cares to realise. Of course, the doctor also holds a dark and sinister secret.
Hettienne Park as Beverly Katz
Hettienne Park has had a lot of career success, starting with a Broadway production calledSeminar. She’s also had cameos in a few popular series including The Good Wife, Damages,Law & Order and has also starred in Bride Wars. In Hannibal, Hettienne plays the part of Beverly Katz, a crime scene investigator who specialises in fiber analysis.
Lara Jean Chorostecki as Fredricka “Freddie” Lounds
We recently saw Lara Jean Chorostecki in a cameo on Beauty and the Beast (Saturdays at 8:30pm WAT on M-Net or On Demand) as Iris, a Russian women who was illegally harboring her sisters in the US. Now she’s cast as Fredricka “Freddie” Lounds, a tabloid blogger.
With such a talented star cast lined up, you wouldn’t want to miss the premiere of Hannibal tomorrow (23 April at 7:55pm WAT) on SONY.
