Here’s a banging new folk/afro-pop joint titled “Ganga Da Garaya” by next-rated afro-pop star, Morell. What makes this song truly unique is the simple fact that Morell not only sings in Hausa language all through the song, but he also does it remarkably well on an afro-pop instrumental.

Translated in English, Morell‘s lyrics include socially-positive messages such as “come and see the gathering of the youth, real love born out of likeness” and “celebration is what’s happening, growth came with a promotion”.

Produced by Danja, the song is backed by traditional Hausa drum patterns and traditional Hausa guitar sounds. While this is most likely to appeal to people who speak the Hausa-language, I’m certain a non-Hausa listener would also find the song entertaining.
