Gulder Ultimate Search is never devoid of surprises! And the ninth day of the warrior’s stay in the jungle was dedicated to shopping. The jungle shopping mall was replete with food items: eggs, pineapple, water melon, oranges, coconuts, pawpaw and bananas.

But there was a catch. The warriors had been dispossessed of their valuable items and were only left with bare essentials. So what currency would they trade the food items with? Anchor man Chidi Mokeme pointed out that they would use their strength!

And the deciding game was the Mud of War – Tug of War in the mud. The game was broken into rounds. A tribe member would pick and tackle a warrior from the opposing tribe in the game. Victory meant picking a food item of choice.

Ifunanya, being the winner of the previous day’s task was given the special privilege to pick a Sword warrior to go against in the first round. She chose Mary. Fourteen seconds into the ‘Mud of War’, Ifunanya pulled Mary in and proceeded to the mall where she picked some eggs. In the second round Mary returned with Edmund while Ifunanya returned with Anthony; Eddy proved that Anthony was no match for him as he and Mary pulled the Spears in. At the mall he picked the coconuts.

The Swords continued the winning streak until two warriors were left in their camp that had not competed – Halima and Tracy. To create a balance, they had to choose who to compete against from the Spears. Halima picked Martha and defeated her. Tracy, scared of Ifunanya, opted for Martha, but that choice was voided. She had to go against Ifunanya who defeated her in no time. Edmund defeated Anthony a second time to shop for the sleeping mat and the blanket.
