Dennis Okike, winner of Gulder Ultimate Search Season 10, was finally crowned at a feast fit only for royalty. The Reveal Ceremony was held at the Le Meridian Hotel, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The Chief Host at the event was Governor Godswill Akpabio. He thanked Nigerian Breweries Plc, for staging a second consecutive edition of GUS in Usaka. He likened the treasure search in GUS to Nigeria’s search for peace and prosperity.
He further described Nigerian Breweries Plc. as an epitome of good corporate citizenship for coming up with and sustaining the reality TV show. He described it as a youth development initiative. The governor urged other corporate entities to borrow a leaf from the NB Plc. as government alone cannot do it all.
Gov. Akpabio noted: “I urge corporate entities that benefit from doing business in Nigeria to emulate Nigerian Breweries and give back to society in meaningful ways.”
He congratulated the contestants and Dennis in particular for his resilience in finding the treasure and advised him to remain a role model for younger ones.
On his part Nicolaas Vervelde, Managing Director Nigerian Breweries Plc., described the search for the 10th Symbol as the best of the 10 seasons of GUS held so far. He described the introduction of the Fans’ Edition as a huge success as over 100,000 fans participated in the off-line search.
Dennis Okike drove home a brand new Mitsubishi Pajero and became N10 million richer. However the other contestants also went home with cash prizes ranging from N1 million to N2.75 million. Ifunanya Okike who emerged joint 1st runner-up and the Last Female Contestant Standing, was given an additional N1 million.
Each of the contestants also got N500,000 from Gov. Akpabio.
The winner of the Fans’ Edition, Kalu Kalu Nwalugwe, was presented with the key to his brand new Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0 GLX MT by Nicolas Vervelde, assisted by Melvin Chandelle, General Manager CFAO, official automobile partners for GUS 10.
Other dignitaries at the event were: Dame Valerie Ebi, Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom; Dr Raymond Dokpesi, Chairman Daar Communications Plc.; Walter Drenth, Marketing Director, Kufre Ekanem, Corporate Affairs Adviser and Emmanuel Agu, Marketing Manager – Gulder, Legend and Life; all of Nigerian Breweries Plc.
