Be prepared this November, as M-Net Movies takes you on an adventure.
The Festival hosts a spectacular line up including, Life of Pi, Hansel & Gretel,Prometheus and Hotel Transylvania just to name a few.
The Sunday Night blockbuster is Life of Pi on M-Net Movies Premiere channel (103 on Dstv) and follows the journey of a young boy set adrift at sea in a life raft.
Losing his family, having limited supplies and harsh weather, he is flung into a world of survival and adventure and Pi must fight to survive.
Not only does he have to deal with the elements but he is given a further challenge when he realises his only companion is a Bengal tiger.
It earned over $609 million worldwide and had eleven award nominations, including Best Picture, and won four including Best Director at the 85th Academy Awards.
On the 8th of November on M-Net Movies Premiere channel (103 on Dstv), Hansel (Jeremy Renner) & Gretel (Gemma Arterton) overcome the events that took place in their childhood and are hell bent on retribution.
Hansel & Gretel become bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world. As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, the siblings encounter a new form of evil that might hold a secret to their past.
Don’t forget to catch Prometheus on the 10th of November on M-Net Movies Action+ channel (106 on Dstv). Set in the future, a team of scientists and archaeologists travel to another planet in the belief that they’ve discovered the origins of mankind.
They soon discover that their findings are incredible, horrifying and a threat to the future of earth.
The third week of the festival has something for the whole family. Journey 2, which airs on the 16th of November is about a teenage boy and his step-father who set off to find a mythical island.
Soon after discovering the magical place, they learn that the island is sinking, and they desperately need to find a way off.
Shanghai Noon on the 24th November on M-Net Movies Action channel (110 on Dstv), takes you on an adventure to the ‘Wild West’. Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson and Lucy Liu lead us on an adventure that begins when the Emperor of China’s daughter is kidnapped and taken to the United States. A clumsy Imperial Guard insists on rescuing her and finds an unlikely partner in a small time criminal.
The last week of the festival has a supernatural twist to it. On the 29th of November on M-Net Movies Premiere channel (103 on DStv), Hotel Transylvania keeps both kids and adults entertained as an overprotective Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, tries to shield his daughter from that very place.
A boy discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teen-aged daughter, leaving Dracula trying to defuse the situation.
M-Net Movies will also be showing other movies such as Alpha & Omega, Ice Age Continental Drift, The Country Bears, Armageddon, Signs and Battleship.
