About Asuzu
Asuzu was birth in Nigeria, raised in New York, and now resides in the DMV. He makes eclectic music for you to dance, sing, and relate to. His music is an infusion of Hip-Hop cadencies, Pop rhythms, African tunes, and R&B melodies. He is distinguished from his counterparts by his lyrical ingenuity.
Asouzu Nwagwu (born April 15th, 1986 in Imo State, Nigeria) artistically recognized as Asuzu “the Zulu,” is a contemporary hip hop Emcee with an ingenious imagination. Influenced by Eminem and driven by 2Pac, Jadakiss, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Talib Kwali, Common, Fabolous, and Ludacris he depicts his reality lyrically. He came to the United States with his family in 1996.
He is a sibling within four brothers raised by a single mom. Being a fan of real Hip Hop and music in general, Asuzu’s music upholds and promotes the conscious platform that Hip Hop was founded on.
Asuzu major influences are Nas, Eminem, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Tupac, Jadakiss and Big L. More recent influences include Joe Budden, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli and Ludacris. Asuzu, also referred to as Asuzu the Zulu, has released three mixtapes:
1. WTF is This the Mixtape
2. Born to be a Star, and his latest
3. Nigerian King
All catching instant approval in the online community. With a unique approach and lyrical personality, Asuzu has created his own sound infused with experiences from Nigeria, New York and Maryland, and with his notable metaphors and wordplay. With that said, “listen to the verbal of this African rebel.”
