IK Osakioduwa: The #AMVCA2014 host with the most

The 2014 AMVCAs will get underway in a few hours and co-host, IK Osakioduwa is ready to roll. DStv.com’s Ayo Falafala met up with IK to find out how he feels about co-hosting the prestigious event for the second time.

How does it feel hosting the AMVCAs for the second time? 

‘’It feels great! I love the AMVCAs! It’s always a great endorsement for a show that has continental acclaim to choose you to do any form of work with them, be it the red carpet or hosting. It’s an endorsement saying you can talk to the continent’’.

Why does he think he keeps getting picked to host these big continental shows?

I’m not going to mince words – It’s the favour of God that gets me picked all the time. It’s not because I’m a great guy. I’m not much different from other people, it’s not because I’m eloquent. There are more eloquent people out there. In fact a lot of them are more hard working than I am and they even look better. I feel extremely fortunate to have received as many jobs as I’ve received over the years. I owe everything to God who has always covered my inadequacies.

What’s the game plan for tonight?

I intend to have fun. I’m not going to take things so seriously that I won’t have fun anymore. I’m going to enjoy myself and enjoy the company of my co-hosts. In a nutshell, I’ll do the best I can to be relaxed and have fun.

What are your overall thoughts about the AMVCA?

When I think about the AMVCAs, I think about the whole continent. I think of people from all over Africa in the industry that I’m in and that I’d like to be more involved in. When I think about the AMVCAs, I also think of the networking opportunity. I think of meeting skilled talents, I think of meeting people who can have a great influence on the future of TV and people who can take Africa to the level where Hollywood is and even beyond.
