MUST SEE TV: April’s looking awesome for kids on DStv

There’s no better time to be a kid with access to DStv than during the April holidays, and if you’re going away as a family, keep your kids entertained during the journey by taking your Drifta or Walka along for the ride.
Premium subscribers with a HD PVR or aDStv Explora also have access to the Awesome Animation Collection that is set to keep kids entertained in April, and all episodes are available for 28 days.

On Wednesday 2 April the Kids’ Choice Awards kick off on Nickelodeon at 17:00 and straight after that the season premiere of The Thundermans starts. The brand new series follows a family of superheroes who are trying desperately to keep their super powers under wraps.

And, while we’re talking about superheroes, kids can dial into Disney XD on Sunday 6 April at 13:55 to watch an omnibus of the high-octane Avengers Assemble.

On Monday 7 April at 18:25 kids can catch the all new Grojband on Cartoon Network. This series follows Corey Riffin and his three best friends on their quest to form the biggest and best rock band ever.


At 21:00 over on Channel ED, the riveting series Road to Resistance explores South African history and takes an in depth look at Oliver Tambo’s role as president of the then-exiled ANC.

On Friday 11 April at 13:00, kids can enjoy back-to-back episodes of the superb Shaun The Sheep on CBeebies.

 

Kids can kick start their Saturdays on 12 April at 11:55 by tuning into Nickelodeon for three episodes of Kung Fu Panda and there’s no need to simmer down on Sunday 13 April, whenIron Man and Hulk Heroes United storm onto Disney XD at 12:15.

On Friday 18 April kids can get a dose of medical mayhem in Mighty Med on Disney XD,where two best friends find themselves helping out in a hospital  just for superheroes!

And on Saturday 19 April at 10:25, the little ones can join Winnie the Pooh in Springtime with Roo on Disney Junior.

Moms and dads can take a trip down memory lane with their little ones on Monday 21 April at 17:40 by tuning in to the Tom & Jerry Show on Boomerang and everyone can go away with the Disney Fairies on Wednesday 23 April at 15:00.

Older teens can tune in to the Legend of Korra at 20:50 on Friday 25 April on Nickelodeon to see how the last airbender’s training is going, while the highly anticipated brand new season ofBen 10 Omniverse: Galactic Monsters starts on Monday 28 April at 18:50 on Cartoon Network.
