Copa del Rey finale, Barcelona’s last chance – LIVE on SuperSport

Copa del Rey finale

The darlings of the world football for the past seven years, Barcelona now appear to be in terminal decline.

Defeats to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and Granada in the league in the past five days saw their treble dreams go up in smoke and their season could come crashing down should they fail to overcome bitter rivals Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final to be broadcast live on SuperSport on Wednesday.

The World of Champions will cross over to Valencia from 8pm for a 30-minute Sky Sports build-up with kick off set for 8.30pm (WAT) on SS3HD and SS3.

Rumblings of the decline of arguably the greatest team of the 21st century and the end of an era have constantly been met with responses of “gravely exaggerated talk” from players and staff. But the last five days have proved that the club is no longer the powerhouse it once was and the world could be moving on from tiki-taka football.

Having already beaten Real Madrid twice this season, the cup final is their last chance of salvaging what has been a disastrous season on and off the field.

Surprisingly, Wednesday’s encounter will only be the seventh El Clasico final in the Copa del Rey’s 112-year history.

Make sure you catch it on Wednesday, 16 April on SS3HD and SS3.
