This week on DStv BoxOffice: Rio 2, The Legend of Hercules and more…

BoxOffice is serving up five new movies for your viewing pleasure this week.

Here’s the line-up:

(1) Rio 2 

It’s a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids, after they’re hurtled from Rio to the wilds of the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful and villainous Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all… his father-in-law. 

Starring: Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement 
Director: Carlos Saldanha 

Rio 2 is available to rent on BoxOffice from 14 July 2014. 


(2) The Legend of Hercules 

In Ancient Greece 1200 B.C., a queen succumbs to the lust of Zeus to bear a son promised to overthrow the tyrannical rule of the king and restore peace to a land in hardship. But this prince, Hercules, knows nothing of his real identity or his destiny.

(3) That Awkward Moment 

Three best friends find themselves where we have all been- at that confusing moment in every dating relationship when you have to decided “So…Where is this going?” 

Starring: Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller

That Awkward Moment is available to rent on BoxOffice from 16 July 2014. 

(4) Out of the Furnace 

Russell and his younger brother Rodney live in the economically-depressed Rust Belt, and have always dreamed of escaping and finding better lives. But when Russell is imprisoned, his brother becomes involved in a violent and ruthless crime ring.

(5) Fruitvale Station 

The purportedly true story of Oscar Grant III, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident, who crosses paths with friends, enemies, family, and strangers on the last day of 2008.

Director: Ryan Coogler 

Fruitvale Station is available to rent on BoxOffice from 18 July 2014.
