GOtv Signals GO Live in Abeokuta
GOtv has extended its services to Abeokuta urging TV lovers in the city to step-up to the digital age with GOtv.
Addressing media at the launch held on Friday, 1 August at the Continental Suites, general manager GOtv Nigeria, Mrs Elizabeth Amkpa said that TV viewers in Abeokuta can now GO-digital with GOtv. Furthermore, she described GOtv as the best option to join in the digital television revolution, noting that GOtv is affordable and was launched in October 2011 with the latest approved DVB-T2 decoders.
She explained that GOtv subscribers in Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Lagos, Enugu, Benin, Aba, Owerri, Kano, Kaduna, Onitsha, Asaba, Uyo, Abuja, Calabar, Osogbo, Ife, Ogbomoso, Akure, Oyo, and Jos are already digitised and will have nothing to worry about when the analogue broadcasting signals are switched-off in Nigeria.
Mrs Amkpa concluded by saying that GOtv will be embarking on an extensive roll-out to more cities in the coming weeks to enable the Nigerian government achieve a speedy migration from analogue to digital broadcasting by 2015.
“In the coming weeks, GOtv signals will go live in Makurdi, Umuahia, Warri, Sapele Ede, Ilesha, Ado-ekiti, Owo and Ilorin while we are setting up transmitters in many more cities”, she said.
GOtv makes a debut in Abeokuta at a retail price of N6, 900 for a decoder, outdoor GOtenna and one month subscription to GOtv Plus. Offering two bouquets – GOtv Plus and GOtv at a monthly subscription of N1,500 and N1,000 respectively, subscribers will have access to an exciting selection of local and international channels which cater to a variety of tastes for different members of the family.
GOtv Plus offers 41 channels while there are 28 channels on GOtv. Categorised into news and current affairs, movies and general entertainment, sport, music, religion, children and documentaries, GOtv’s channel lineup includes – AfricaMagic, AfricaMagic Yoruba, AfricaMagic Movies, Al Jazeera, Blackbelt TV, CNN, Disney Junior, Discovery World, ED Channel, E! Entertainment, Hip TV, Islam Channel, Jim Jam, Mnet Movies Zone, Channel O, MTV Base, Soundcity, and TBN, among others.
GOtv is a new digital pay television offering on the Digital Terrestrial Television platform with its services provided by the subscriber management company MultiChoice. The channel lineup is also uniquely placed to allow it to become the home of African television with local channels made in Africa for Africa.
Abeokuta is the 21st city in which GOtv launches in Nigeria.
