MultiChoice to Showcase 3 Nigerian Festivals On DStv and GOtv

There is so much more viewing pleasure in store for DStv and GOtv viewers this festive season! MultiChoice’s Event Pop-Up channel on DStv channel 199 and GOtv channel 29 will be screening some of the best in Nigerian festivals from Friday, 19 December to Thursday, 1 January 2015.

Subscribers on all DStv bouquets and GOtv Plus will get a front row view of Nigeria’s hottest music festivals right in the comfort of their own homes with the coverage of the sixth edition of the Akwa Ibom Christmas Concert from 19-21 December. This year’s concert is slated to be on an even grander scale, featuring a 200-man Ibom Choral and Orchestra.

Other artists to look forward to include Nigerian and international music stars including renowned US worship leader and five-time Grammy Award winning singer Israel Houghton as well as South African Gospel legend Lionel Peterson. International worship leader, Sinach and Nigerian gospel rock artist Frank Edwards will also dazzle be part of the celebrations.

From the 26 to 29 December, viewers can look forward to the 10th anniversary celebration of the annual Calabar Grand Carnival, otherwise known as ‘Africa’s biggest street party’ that takes place on the streets of the Cross River State, Nigeria.

Viewers will get to enjoy a musical concert featuring top Nigerian artists plus a stunning parade of colourful costumes, creative dancers, elaborate floats and inspirational interpretations of this year’s theme Celebration Time.

The on-screen festivities will culminate in the Lagos Countdown to the New Year from 29 December to 1 January 2015 where viewers will join the city of Lagos as it counts down to 2015 with a massive concert featuring the hottest Nigerian artists and a spectacular fireworks display.

Tune in to DStv channel 199 and GOtv channel 29 when it pops up from Friday, 19 December at 17:00 to Thursday, 1 January at 11:30 CAT.
