MultiChoice announces an additional price reduction of 30% on its new DStv Single View HD decoder | Now sells at N11,500

MultiChoice Nigeria has announced an additional price reduction of 30% on its new DStv Single View High Definition decoder, also known as the Zapper. This brings the new price to N11,500 from the previous N15,500, and a total reduction of nearly 60% from the original value of N27,500. The recently launched Zapper is a decoder that transmits in high definition, ensuring that customers enjoy their favourite programs in crystal clear picture and sound quality. Customers who wish to enjoy its full benefit need to be on either Compact, Compact Plus or Premium bouquets and have a HD compatible television.

The Zapper decoder is the most recent innovative offering from MultiChoice that packs quite the punch in value and output, considering its diminutive size. Speaking on the reason for its introduction recently, MultiChoice Managing Director, John Ugbe said “The Zapper is evidence that we are on a continuous technological advancement drive. It is now also more affordable to watch our top class content in HD. The introduction of the Zapper was planned to coincide with the ongoing AFCON tournament, and a special AFCON HD channel; SS5 HD on channel 225 has also been created for football lovers on both the Compact and Compact Plus bouquets.”

Speaking further on the value of the Zapper, Ugbe said “Ordinarily, a product of this value should cost up to three times its current cost, but our aspiration remains to make entertainment accessible to as many Nigerians as possible, even in HD, hence offering the Zapper at the extremely low price of N11,500.”

The Zapper is poised to change the way viewers watch television and according to Martin Mabutho, the General Manager Marketing, “Exposure to HD programs through the Zapper will only mean that subscribers are moving along with worldwide trends at such an affordable cost.
