VIDEO: Jr – TWAAN
The Bronx representing rapper born January 11, by the name of Osei Nkrumah Jr is a member of the “The Rollers.”
Growing up in The Bronx, N.Y. Jr had a good upbringing. His mother and father worked extremely hard to make ends meet and provide for him and his siblings. However, since he was raised in the “hood”, he witnessed and experienced the hardship of “street life”.
Jr attended University at Buffalo and graduated in May 2013 with a B.A degree. “Being raised by an African parent is different as oppose to an American parent. What I mean is that, African parents have already decided your faith for you when you’re born. They want you to be a doctor or a big business person back in African. An American parent will allow the child to explore their options” Jr’s parent gave him no choice but to go to school and become a professional in life. Though, Jr has always stayed on the right path, he still had a few small issues with the law. Jr is now on the right trail and pursuing his music career.
Jr has always enjoyed listening and writing his own music with his sister when they were kids. “I will connect my big Compaq computer to AOL dial up, find a beat on LimeWire and write raps with my sister.” Music has always been part of him. Jr began to take music seriously after witnessing his close friends “kill” a studio session. “I’ve always wanted to be an entertainer, but that day really made me believe I can do it.” Jr has studied the music industry, found his sound and is willing to be one of the best in the industry.
“My goal is to get the world to see the hard work and dedication myself and my team put in to make great music and most importantly feed my family. JR strives for excellence to put his team on the map and provide for himself and his family by using Hip-Hop to do it. “We know this is going to be a lot of work. But with some loyal and hardworking team behind me, we are certain that failure will not be an option.” JR refuses to lose.
Enjoy!
