KWESÉ SPORTS TO AIR COSAFA 2016/2017 COMPETITION

Kwesé Sports, the sports content platform of Econet Media, has bagged a unique one-year deal with the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) with the option of another extension two years’. The Cosafa U20 and Women’s Tournament will be served to the sports’ enthusiasts across sub-Saharan Africa.

Kwesé Sports owning both pay TV and Free-to-Air rights, will be airing Cosafa content which will also be streamed through its Kwesé App being available on Android and iOS. Live games, catch-up and highlights will be included in the programming.

Joseph Hundah, the CEO of Econet Media, commented: “We are working towards being the hub for everything sports related on the African continent, be it local or international. We aim to bring the best in premium content from all over the world complemented by an extensive selection of local tournaments”.

On the other hand, Timothy Shongwe, the chairman of Cosafa’s competition, said: “Cosafa is delighted that its U20 Youth Championship and Women’s Championship will be reliably televised and brought to the continent thereby showcasing the competitions and providing exposure to the players and referees of the southern Africa region”.
