TSA partners with 11 additional airlines to offer TSA Pre✓®

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced the expansion of TSA Pre® to 11 new airlines, bringing the total number of airlines participating in TSA Pre® to 30. The expansion includes both foreign and domestic airlines operating within the United States.

Among the new carriers to join is the United Kingdom’s first TSA PreCheck airline: Virgin Atlantic. True to the brand, Virgin Atlantic announced the new enrollment in a humorous way: “Virgin Atlantic Encourages Customers to Keep Their Clothes On.”

The list of TSA PreCheck participating airlines has been expanding rapidly recently. In early May 2016, just 12 airlines participated in the program. With the addition of these 11 new airlines, there are now 30 carriers working with the Transportation Security Administration to help you speed through security:

Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Allegiant, American Airlines, Aruba Airlines, Avianca, Boutique Airlines, Cape Air, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Frontier Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Key Lime Air, Lufthansa, Miami Air International, OneJet, Seaborne Airlines, Southern Airways Express, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Sunwing, United Airlines, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic, WestJet and Xtra Airways.

Travelers can apply for TSA Pre® for a cost of $85 for five years, or $17 per year. Other passengers who are eligible for TSA Pre® include members of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Trusted Traveler programs, such as Global Entry and NEXUS for Canadian citizens. TSA Pre® is also available for U.S. Armed Forces service members, including those serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Reserves and National Guard.

As always, TSA continues to incorporate unpredictable security measures, both seen and unseen, throughout the airport. All travelers will be screened, and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
