INTERVIEW: Ghanaian born Underwear Model and Fitness Trainer, DEL talks Being Thankful, Living in Belgium, Delfitness, Apeel Collection and more…

Meet Ayuba Aliyu aka Del, born 10th of September, 1986 in Accra, Ghana who is an Underwear model and fitness trainer based/ living in Belgium.

Del who is popular on social for modelling fashion cloths, underwears and taking part in fashion shows, as worked with top brands and companies like APEEL Collection (USA), Men Mall (Russia), Dynamik Muscle (USA) and 3DFWEAR, to name just a few.

Hey Del! Would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m just a simple guy.

Talk me through an average day in the life of you?
Working 8 hours a day at the hospital, 1h 30mins. in the gym and then rest.

Why the interest in fitness?
I love sport and the most important thing in life is to live a healthy life, look good to motivate others to do the same.

How did you come up with the name “DEL”?
Del is my name the meaning of my name I have no idea…LOL

What is “3DFWear” and “Delfitness” all about?
3dfwear is a brand I work with to promote my own clothing line, like men undergarments while Delfitness as DF is also for my future gym clothing brand for both men and women.

How’s the modelling industry in Belgium?
I don’t like working with the agencies, I prefer to be my own man and do what I like.

Do you feel the industry is doing alot to encourage upcoming models?
Modelling is not for everyone but if you give the best of yourself you get to enjoy doing the job.

You had previously done underwear photo shoots for Apeel Collection (USA), Men Mall (Russia) and Dynamik Muscle (USA), how did they go and how did they reach you?
It all went perfectly well. They found me on Instagram, Facebook, that’s where I get most of my contacts.

What will you say was the main message behind those shoots and did you get any positive response/ reviews from industry watchers and fans?
The theme of the shoot is the most important thing to me. My fans always love every pieces of my work.

You are a young entrepreneurial minded guy. How do you balance your personal and professional life?
I live my day as it passes by. One day at a time!

How often do you go to the gym and how many hours do you spend while you there?
6 times a week.

What’s your 5 Dos and Don’t when it comes to fitness modelling?
Don’t have much to say about that, except that I do not like cheaters who use steroid and faking their image pretending they have it all.

What would you say is the main misconception the public have about models?
That it’s not a good job.

What aspect surprised you the most once you started as a fitness trainer?
I just enjoy helping others to overcome their wishes to look good, stay fit and healthy.

Which brands, clients, photographers, models, have you worked with?
Photographers from Montenegro, Russia and Spain plus done lots of work with brands like Menmall (Russia), APEEL Collection (USA) and Boxmenwear (UK).

What has been one of the most memorable jobs to work on?
All of them. I’ve always enjoyed my jobs and it always gonna be memorable to me each and every photo sessions.

Tell us two things people don’t know about you?
1. I’m not a perfectionist
2. Not a racist

What do you consider your biggest professional success so far?
I’m happy that’s success enough for me.

What has been your biggest challenge?
Fighting every single day to stay happy.

You are very active on social media. Do you think its important to be online and if so why?
Yes to promote yourself you always have to be active on social media.

You are from Ghana but now mostly live in Belgium, will you say that as given you a brand-new perspective towards life?
I was born in Ghana. I’ve lived in Belgium since 2006. I’m just thankful to myself and the people that helped me so far to be where I am today.

What are your must visit travel destinations?
Greece

1. Love sneakers

How would you describe your style?
Simple and cute.

What music genre appeals to you the most?
R&B

What are your favorite fashion trends?
None, once they look good I love them.

What is your favorite dish?
Salad with seafood.

What songs are currently on your playlist?
Letoya

Apart from fashion, modelling, fitness, what other projects are you currently working on?
Nothing at the moments.

Seeing you’re doing your dreams, what advice can you give others to pursue their dreams?
Keep courage fight for your wishes and dreams and keep believing in yourself.

Any specific plans for the future?
Own a huge house
