Netflix launches mobile previews
Netflix has launched mobile previews in a bid to offer users a “fun, simple, and easy way to learn about all the new content on Netflix”.
The mobile previews launch today on iOS and are due to follow soon on Android, with the launch following the introduction of video previews as part of the TV experience last year.
The mobile previews are essentially 30-second long slideshows of content, presented in a vertical format, so that users can watch them without turning their phone. Users can tap to play content or add it to their watch-list.
“Years of testing has made it clear that video previews help our members browse less and discover new content more quickly. With the launch of mobile previews, we are bringing a video browse experience to your mobile phone in a fun and mobile-optimised way,” said Cameron Johnson, Netflix’s director of product innovation.
“Mobile previews load very quickly, are personalised to your specific tastes, and are easy to use. We hope you like using this new feature and that mobile previews help you find your next favourite show.”
