My typical day in my fitness world starts every morning (Monday through Friday) at 4:15 am when I get up, get myself ready and head out to the gym to start working with my clients at 5am. I train all day. Some days are busier than others. I generally return home around 11:30pm on really busy days or around 9pm on others.

What institution(s) did you attend and what did you study?

I went to two good High School when I moved to Georgia before attending a two year college (Young Harris College). I later transferred to University of Memphis for one year then moved back to Georgia where I attended Kennesaw State University. I studied Health and Exercise Science.

Why did you decide to become a fitness trainer?

I’ve always been an athletic lad. But most importantly, I’ve always seek to help people and through fitness, I thought would make the most profound impact on people’s lives.

Are you CPR-certified? What other certifications do you hold?

How will you rate the fitness industry in the United States and do you feel it’s doing well in keeping American fit?

If I am not mistaken, the Fitness industry now has become a multi-billion industry. Only second to technology. Only in the past 10 years, the industry here in America has risen exponentially. I’ll rate it a solid 9 out of 10. The industry has certainly raised awareness and so my answer is yes it is helping keep Americans fit. There’s still a lot of work to do.

Looking at your photos from 2011 till now, there as been massive transformation and improvements. What will you say motivated/inspired you to go into fitness and stay dedicated in it?

What kept me motivated/inspired? Well that is simple, my answer is the inspiration people get from looking at me physically. Aspiring to attain the kind of success I’ve been blessed with. Make no mistake, I have a long way to go myself. It feels good to know that what I do out of innocence To be healthy, inspire others to follow a similar path.

As a certified fitness trainer, what will you say are your 5 Dos and Don’t when it comes to fitness and health?

My 5 Dos and Don’t ?
Dos:

  1. Consistency
  2. Dedication
  3. Focus
  4. Hard Work
  5. Humbleness (from my fitness perspective).

Don’t:

Very simple; “Mind your own Fitness !“ my “Director of Personal Training “ will advice! Do not look at someone else’s body of work and try to replicate that. Recipe for disaster!!! thus ; unwanted injuries.

Do you think we are taking our health and wellbeing seriously?

I think we as a society have become aware of the benefits of living a healthy/ healthier fitness lifestyle. That means that we don’t have to pile up medical bills due to our inactive lifestyle. “Prevention is better than Cure”

For someone trying to start out eating healthy, what meal plans will you recommend?

The meal plan I’ll recommend varies significantly from individual to individual. Obviously, I will not recommend someone who is an “Ectomorph” (a skinny individual with a very high metabolism) who is trying to gain muscle mass; do a low caloric diet. If you get my point. So it varies from individual to individual.

How do you balance your professional and personal life?

I balance my professional and personal life by staying very disciplined. For example I do not do anything work related after certain hours of the day or certain days of the week such as the weekends. It’s that simple!

What do you consider the most common public stereotype about the fitness trainers?

Haha, we are “hoes” lol.. I get that quite a lot! On a more serious note, a lot of the time, people think being a personal trainer is all we know or are good at. They think outside of that, we’re “empty buckets “

What aspect surprised you the most once you started?

How little people know about what we do. How little people understand that it takes mental strength, focus, and perseverance to deal with people who a lot of the times come in to see you for Training with negative energy.
How little people understand that a trainer puts in a lot of work to perfect his craft in order to help and keep a client satisfied. For example, advice on how to keep, prepare and maintain a healthy and consistent diet. Put together the client’s training program. Keep up with their measurements, body fat/ BMI… etc.

In retrospect… ALOT OF PLANNING TO HELP THE CLIENT BE SUCCESSFUL.

Looking back to when you started as also a model, will there be anything you would like to change?

From my modeling career, yes I’d love to change a lot. But I also realize being a model comes with making certain miss steps earlier on in your career. I learned and kept moving forward.
