The Voice SA: How the KnockOuts work

With the Blinds over, it’s not The Voice SA Battles (yet!) – instead, we’ll enjoy an all-new KnockOut round!

Here’s how it works:

For four consecutive weeks, each team of thirteen – beginning with #TeamLIRA – will perform for the Coaches, one by one. After each performance, their Coach will have to decide whether they are in the Safe Zone – which means a ticket to the Battles – or the Danger Zone.

There are some twists, though: the Coach can only send three talent to the Safe Zone initially, and anyone sent to the Danger Zone can get a Steal from another Coach. Each Coach gets two Steals across the course of the four rounds. Eish!

At the end of all thirteen performances, with three talent already in the Safe Zone, the Coach gets to save another three talent – this is of course from the group that remains after any Steals. Thus, six performers will represent their team in the Battles.

However, in another new twist, you have a chance to save a talent by voting! The Strepsils KnockOut Viewers’ Save vote can be done via SMS, web and mobi. It opens at 7pm after the show on Sundays and closes at 10pm on the following Tuesday. The Coaches may not be able to save someone, but you can!

All the details here. It’s going to be tough for the Coaches, but amazingly tense for us viewers!

The Voice SA airs on Sundays at 17:30.
