Sexy Steel is a Nigerian designer, stylist, actor, musician and entrepreneur.

PERSONAL DETAILS

Abbey Chile Abuede aka Sexy Steel, was born in 1977 to Chief K. Abuede, of Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.

A fashionista, and first male child of his father, late Chief Kehinde Abuede, himself a sports enthusiast and former chairman of Oshodi Isolo Local Government Council, and entrepreneur, he learned much  from his father, who was first and most important mentor.

He is a graduate of Fine Arts from Federal Polytechnic of Ibadan, after which he founded Niddles and Stitches, his own fashion brand.

EARLY LIFE and CAREER

Abbey Abuede, was born Dec 24th , 1977, in Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta state Nigeria. He grew up in Lagos with his siblings and went to Maryland Comprehensive School in Lagos after which he went to Ibadan where his mother hails from, to complete his education.

CAREER

At college, Sexy Steel started a music group called High Profile, which he funded and was part of, until his discovery by Mr Tony Nwakalor, the founder of Yes Records back in 2009.

This deal led to the official release of his debut album titled, Cumbersome, which includes songs like South African Girl, Taka Sufe and Omoge Wajo etc.

In 2012, after the recording contract expired, Sexy Steel released a few singles one of which was the very well recieved Bebedi Alhaja, which garnered numerous awards. There was also Mambo which featured the monster hit; Kukere crooner, Iyanya in 2013. In 2015, Sexy Steel released another single titled Sisi which marked the singer as one to look out for, as it smashed the airwaves and multiplied the singer’s popularity a thousandfold.

This success led to him being approached by several industry people who wanted to work with him. These include, producers, directors, artists, to name a few.

The result of these proposals led to him playing central roles in film productions such as , Playing Safe, a star studded cast, produced and directed by Elvis Chuks, Awa Okunrin, another star studded block buster by Funke (Jenifa) Akindele, Ayo Makun’s Ten Days In Sun City and Merry Men( he also wrote the motion picture title soundtrack) and so on.

Sexy Steel is also a talented footballer and barber. A testimony to this, is the African /Latin award he won in 1993, at a very young age while still in his teenage years in junior high. 

Sexy Steel has won several industry and interindustry awards like the MTN/SuperSport Celebrity football competition, Nollywood vs Super Eagles , Nigerian Comedians vs Artistes competition etc. Fashion awards include, Imperial Integrated Project award for fashion and youth empowerment, Nigerian Designers Fashion award for best fashion designer and CEO, to name but a few.

Awards in music include, SoundCity award for best video, NMVA, best video, best, costume, best director, best indigenous concept, the list goes on.
