Sky Sports to launch NFL channel in five year renewal broadcast deal
Sky and the NFL are to launch a dedicated NFL channel ahead of the new season.
It’s the first time the league has partnered with an international broadcaster to launch a channel focussing exclusively on the sport.
The agreement coincides with the 25th anniversary of live NFL coverage on Sky Sports and is part of a 5 year deal between sports body and broadcaster.
Sky Sports NFL will go live on September 3, ahead of the 2020 season that kicks off on September 10. It will be distributed in the UK and Ireland and broadcast around the clock.
“Sky Sports has been a fantastic broadcast partner for a quarter of a century,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.? “This new five-year agreement and the launch of a dedicated Sky Sports NFL channel will undoubtedly continue our rapid growth in the UK and Ireland. ?We are excited that our expanded partnership with Sky will provide even more NFL content to our millions of UK and Irish fans.”
The channel will screen a minimum of five games a week including every Thursday Night, Sunday Night and Monday Night Football.
Super Bowl LV will be broadcast live from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on February 7.

Since 2007, NFL has run 28 regular season games.
