This week the Big Brother Naija Housemates keep walking with Johhny Walker.
Today the Housemates received a task from Johnnie Walker. Johnnie Walker is the most widely distributed blend of Scotch Whiskey in the world and today and for sure the Housemates were in for an engaging Task. The Housemates were divided into teams based on four of the favourite Johnnie Walker brands in order to compete for a grand prize.
Team Red Label: Lucy and Prince
Team Black Label: Kiddwaya, Erica and Trickytee
Team White Walker: Dorathy, Ozo and Neo
Team Gold Label: Vee, Laycon, Nengi
Today’s Task was split into three. The winning team would have to acquire the most points across all three stages of their Wager. For the first part, the Housemates were to watch a video based on the history of Johnnie Walker to answer a quiz. The second part was to paint the standing man assigned to each team. Once done with the second task the Housemates would find out their third task.
The Housemates were visibly excited to be doing a Johnnie Walker Task today as they danced out of the storeroom, pulling their suitcases behind them. We must say, the jumpsuits looked fresh on the Housemates as we awaited their Task performance and presentation.
A comedy switch up
The Big Brother Naija Housemates have a new Thursday Wager Brief and naturally it has been on their minds since they got it, here are some of their initial thoughts.
It is Tuesday in the House and naturally, since they were briefed yesterday they have the Thursday Night Wager on their minds. Today, it was mostly Ozo who discussed with various Housemates what they thought the Task should be.
The brief for this week was to celebrate themselves and each other in a comedy where they each get to play an Evicted Housemate. There were only three guiding factors. The Housemates were to enjoy themselves, secondly, they were to plan to have it in the lounge and thirdly, the time frame for their Wager was up to them.
Trikytee and Ozo plan the Wager
Ozo and Trickytee discussed the Wager while they were in the kitchen preparing breakfast. Trikytee had scenes in his mind that he shared with Ozo, adding that they should use Big Brother as a tool in their presentation. Ozo added that they were to mimic all the Housemates that had left and we should remember that. They decided that it was easy and not easy at the same time due to the fact that people already knew the Housemates, the challenge as deciding how to do it.
Ozo talks to Nengi and Dorathy
Ozo left the kitchen to give Nengi her breakfast in bed. He told Nengi that so far he had the last part of the Wager down in his mind, but could not really figure out the rest of it. When Ozo caught up with Dorathy she weighed in, saying the Housemates should tell a story with the characters specific lines that they used to say while they were in the House. She continued that there were nine Housemates in the House and that the Housemates would have to dress like their Evicted Housemates to make it believable.
All the Housemates discuss
As they were waiting for their next Task the Housemates had a chance to come together and discuss their Wager.
Trikytee put forward that the whole house should use Big Brother to introduce the scenes. Neo and Kiddwaya tried their Big Brother voices and were quite convincing, but it seemed Trikytee was the most convincing. Trikytee took on the role of director breaking down the piece into scenes and suggesting how the visual treatment would look like. The team seemed to agree that they would not depict sad encounters and proceeded to plan the nitty-gritty of who will play who, and how.
Let the drama begin
It was not long before the tempers became aggravated however and as the Housemates took a break, Vee retired to her bedroom after telling the Housemates that she did not know what they wanted from her. This left some Housemates like Prince, Dorathy and Trikytee baffled by her actions, while Ozo, Neo, Nengi and Kiddwaya went to find out if she was ok. The Housemates expressed their concern at Vee taking the issue too personally before they were saved by the Johnnie Walker Wager presentation.
Of course, as Biggie said the stakes were getting higher and we cannot wait to see what the Housemates overcome before they present their Wager on Thursday.
The BB Naija House is once again on the brink of chaos as they prepare for the Wager Task. Laycon has wise counsel for an aggrieved party. Will it be enough to save them from slipping into chaos?
Once again, it appeared as if the Lockdown Geng were back to the status quo when it came to preparing for Wager Tasks. A status quo of fights, disagreements and rumours of sabotage. Just last week, they had a smooth ride with Ozo and this time, they are back on the brink of chaos. From the fear of losing the Wager to an aggrieved Housemate finding it difficult to work with the rest of the team, there seemed to be a lot going on in Biggie’s House and if care was not taken, the Housemates might once again find themselves courting their old friend – failure.
How many Wagers have we won?
The poor Wager Tasks record raised a few concerns for Kiddwaya as he sat at the dining with Laycon and Prince discussing how many Wagers they had won and how many more they had left. Winning just two wasn’t really an impressive record and seeing how close they were to the end; it was quite imperative that they put in more effort to win a couple more. “I don’t want to go and lose a simple Wager we should actually win,’ he said later in a discussion with Erica.
Try not to be unruly
Laycon took time to advise Vee on her recent approach to the Wager Task preparations. It seems her altercation with Erica is affecting her disposition towards Wager Task. Laycon noticing this said, “I know you are a wonderful person, but regardless of what other people have done, just be you and don’t be unruly.” She did respond that the altercation she had earlier with some of the Housemates during preparation had nothing to do with Erica but the style they had taken to execute the drama and why when it came to her turn, she didn’t have the liberty to pick who she wanted to play and other Housemates did. Laycon reassured her that auditions will be done again, and she would have the opportunity to pick a role she was more comfortable with.
As they gave preparations for the Wager Task another go, Prince apologised for raising his voice earlier saying his desire for success and shame at the fact that they had only won just two Wager Tasks got the best of him. He recognized losing his temper was a flaw, and he also said he was working on it. He urged all the Housemates to learn to take responsibility for their actions and act accordingly.
Hopefully, they get it right this time and put personal differences and egos aside as they take on this quest to win another Wager Task.
