Battle of the Sounds: Season 4 – Empowering Lagos Youth through Music

Battle of the Sounds: Season 4 is back, a multi-genre street music competition that’s making waves in Lagos! This initiative is more than a music contest – it’s a powerful movement focused on curbing social vices by directing the energy of Lagos youth toward creativity and positive expression. The theme for this year, “Fight the Vice, Not the Vibe,” emphasizes channeling youthful energy into building dreams and uplifting communities.

Since its inception in 2018, Battle of the Sounds has featured iconic figures like Faze, the late Sound Sultan, and GT da Guitarman, with support from the Lagos State Council of Arts and Culture. Each edition has grown in reach and impact, resonating deeply with the vibrant culture and spirit of Lagos.

This season, with a 1 million naira prize, the competition attracted participants from across Lagos, including Badagry, Ajegunle, Festac, Mile 2, Alaba, and Ikorodu, all ready to showcase their talents. Guided by judges like award-winning GT da Guitarman, VJ Priceless, and ace producer Indomix, the competition is set to uncover and empower dedicated, commercially viable talent.

Starting November 2 at Digits Studio, Battle of the Sounds brings the raw energy of a neighborhood rap battle, giving audiences a taste of Lagos’s diverse musical talent over multiple weekends. It’s an authentic celebration of Nigerian culture, creativity, and resilience—a platform where music becomes a tool for social transformation.
