TM Exclusive: CCTV News Africa set to go on-air

China Central Television (CCTV) is set to open her first overseas broadcasting centre in Nairobi, Kenya. CCTV Africa will go on air via the CCTV News Channel on the 31st of this month.

The CCTV Africa operation is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including two HD broadcasting studios.

The initial focus will be on news, interviews, and documentaries. News reporting will cover the entire continent. CCTV Africa aims to play a fundamental role in gathering political, social, economic and cultural information.

By the end of the year, in addition to the Nairobi centre, CCTV will have a network of 14 reporting stations in operation across the African continent.
