VIDEO ALERT: Aljazeera's "The Stream" features Omoyele Sowore ,Gbenga Sesan & Sean Kuti
Across Nigeria, people are protesting the removal of a fuel subsidy as the #OccupyNigeria movement grows. Protestors are also demanding an end to corruption, better quality of government and lower salaries for public officials.
The movement is also attempting to counter the belief that religion has been a major factor in the divisions and tension across the country.
In an episode of The Stream (Aired Tuesday), they spoke to Omoyele Sowore (@SaharaReporters), citizen journalist with Sahara Reporters; Gbenga Sesan (@gbengasesan), from Enough is Enough Nigeria; and Sean Kuti (@RealSeunKuti); musician and activist.
What do you think? What impact would restoring the fuel subsidy have on Nigeria? Share your thoughts and comments on Facebook or Twitter using hashtag #AJStream.
