Raypower FM, AIT set to launch in Benin on May 5

Raypower FM Benin, from the stable of DAAR Communications Plc, has commenced transmission of live signals ahead of the formal commissioning of the station and its sister station, AIT Benin, on Saturday. The radio station, which came alive yesterday May 1, at 12.00 mid-night is the first among the series of stations to be powered by DAAR Communications Plc across the country.

At a ceremony attended by the chairman, of the company, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the Managing Director, Raypower, Paulyn Ugbodaga, Kenny Ogungbe, CEO Kennis Music and Managing Director, DAARSAT, Donpedro Obaseki among other management staff, the head of station AIT Benin, Agba Omoaka was the first voice on the station when he said the first prayer.

In an interview, M.D, Raypower, Paulyn Ugbodaga, Kenny Ogungbe, Donpedro Obaseki, and Lekan Atofojomo said Raypower, as a pioneer private broadcast station, has shown others what radio services should be and its unparalleled role in National development.

They all agreed that with the Benin station coming on live, listeners in Edo, Delta, Ondo, Ekiti and Kogi states would now enjoy the services of the station to the fullest.

The station, Raypower Benin, which has for almost two years, relayed transmission of signals from Raypower Network, will henceforth broadcast programmes from Benin on 105.5 FM. and is expected to transmit a 24-hour signal.

The twins stations, AIT and Raypower FM, Benin will be formally commissioned on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at its Ikhueniro broadcast complex in Benin.
