EMI Publishing Signs Nigeria's Own "Timomatic"

Dancer turned reality TV pop star Timomatic has signed a Worldwide Publishing Agreement with EMI Publishing.

He appeared as a contestant on both So You Think You Can Dance? and then Australia’s Got Talent before launching a music career with the single Set It Off – triple platinum in Australia and picked up by 28 counries.

Real name Timothy Omajii, he is currently writing material for his debut album, to be released through Sony later this year.

Earlier this year the Sony/ATV-led consortium got the green light from the European Commission for their purchase of the EMI Publishing division for $2.2 billion. It was one half of the dramatic EMI split-and-sale last year, that is still being reviewed through regulatory processes.
